Emergency responders were overwhelmed with calls for assistance on Tuesday, December
23rd, as multiple vehicle accidents took place on I-64 and the Grayson area due to
the slick roads caused by freezing rain. With Grayson Dispatch having to prioritize
calls to the most severely injured along with Carter County EMS trying to maneuver
the dangerously, ice covered roads, Bonnie and Allen Stapleton of Olive Hill waited
patiently in their totaled Grand Prix for transport to Kings Daughter's Hospital.
I-64 was shut down from the 149mm. to the 195mm. People were stopped in traffic
for over 5hrs. So Crew could clean up all the accidents and state crews could put
down salt on the roadways..
