    A Series of severe storms including a confirmed  EF1 Tornado with Estimated winds of 75 to 125 MPH was received about 10:25 am 5/11/08 in the Goose Creek and Baker Hill area of State Hwy 182 in Grahn. In Western Carter County, damaged about 7 to 10 homes and barns blew down trees and utility poles. NO Injuries were reported. The Grahn School Community Center was open as a Emergency Shelter for anyone who needs it. Also they provide meals for Volunteers, and Emergency Responders.

    Emergency Services Units Responding for Mutual-Aid to the Grahn Fire Department were Grayson, Olive Hill, Norton Branch, Hitchins, Carter City and the Webbville Fire Departments, along with the Carter County EMS, Carter County, Boyd County and State Area 9 Emergency Management Agency’s and the Carter County Search & Rescue
